Meet your dentist

Dr. Maria Upshaw

Dr. Maria A. Upshaw was born in Caracas, Venezuela, where she spent her early years. She obtained her first dental degree at the Universidad Central de Venezuela, graduating number one in her class in 1995.

In 1996 Dr. Upshaw moved to the U.S. to pursue her second dental degree at The University of Florida School of Dentistry. She graduated in 2000 and was honored on the Dean's list for her academic achievements. After graduation, Dr. Upshaw had the honor to practice under the mentorship and guidance of Dr. Daniel Bertoch for many years. There, she broadened her knowledge and skills in Cosmetic Dentistry, as well as in Family and Comprehensive Dentistry.

In 2009, Dr. Upshaw acquired a small dental practice which she transformed and grew successfully in just a few years. In 2015, Dr. Upshaw sold the practice to spend more time with her young family, but stayed on as an associate providing continuity and excellent care for her patients.

Dr. Upshaw is excited to start the next chapter of her career, bringing over 20 years of experience along with her extraordinary staff and all the latest dental technology to her new brand dental practice, Upshaw Dental Studio.

Dr. Upshaw loves spending time with her three children and her husband, she also enjoys participating in community activities and challenging outdoor sports.
